Health and accident insurance is mandatory for tourists entering Georgia

Government Decree No. 602 applies from 1 January 2026. It requires covered tourists to hold health and accident insurance for the full stay, with a total insured limit of at least 30,000 GEL.

What this means in practice

The policy may be paper or electronic and must be in Georgian or English. Match the dates to the complete stay and check whether a listed legal exemption applies before relying on it.
