What Georgia requires at entry
Government Resolution No. 602 applies to incoming foreign tourists, subject to limited official exemptions. The policy must cover health and accidents for the full stay in Georgia, provide at least 30,000 GEL of insurance cover, and be available in Georgian or English. A paper document or electronic PDF may be presented.
Set the policy dates for the Georgia trip
Use the date you enter Georgia as the policy start and the date you leave as the end. Check overnight flights and time-zone differences carefully. If your travel dates change, make sure the policy still covers every day from entry through departure.
Compare the real total before payment
Compare the final total for all travellers and all trip dates, not only a daily headline price. The live purchase page shows the current GEL price, coverage limit, duration, and plan details before payment. Your card provider determines any currency conversion applied to the transaction.
Check the insurer and policy proof
Georgia permits a policy from an authorised Georgian or foreign insurer when it meets the rule. Before travel, verify the insurer, traveller names as shown in the passport, policy number, Georgia territory, dates, covered risks, limits, and assistance contact. Keep the English PDF on your phone and consider a printed copy.
Know the claims process before you leave
When circumstances allow, call the assistance number on the policy before attending a clinic and follow the insurer's instructions. Keep medical reports, prescriptions, invoices, and receipts. The issued policy wording controls exclusions, sub-limits, direct billing, and reimbursement.
Official exemptions are limited
Resolution No. 602 lists specific exemptions, including certain diplomatic or special visa and passport holders, accredited staff and family members, people covered by international agreements, and international freight or passenger drivers. UAE residency alone is not one of the listed exemptions; check the official resolution if your status is unusual.
