Yes. From 1 January 2026, tourists entering Georgia generally must hold health and accident insurance for their entire stay. The rule includes specific legal exemptions, including certain diplomatic or official travelers, persons covered by international agreements and international transport drivers.

Visitor insurance covers up to 30,000 GEL and includes: insurer emergency line available 24/7 (no limits), emergency medical care (no limits), outpatient services (up to 10,000 GEL), repatriation. The deductible is 100 GEL for each case.

Compulsory visitor insurance starts at 3.95 GEL per day. You can choose cover for any period, from a few days to one year. Once payment is complete and the policy has been issued, it is sent to your email within a few minutes.

If an insured event occurs, use the assistance number indicated in your policy or contact GeoCover. The support team will help organize next steps and necessary medical care.

The deductible is the amount the insured person pays for each covered event before the insurer pays the remaining eligible cost. For VISITOR insurance, the deductible is 100 GEL per case. It does not apply to the insurer's 24/7 emergency line, repatriation, or emergency medical assistance.
